We’ve been having some very unseasonal weather recently, snow and hail in the last few days which is very unusual for late April and it’s been a lot colder. Better to spend time inside rather than out. Did you know there are some great local cookery schools and they run short courses so you can learn a new skill in a day?
I didn’t realise, until I started researching for this article, that there were so many cookery schools based in Kent.
Lots of different courses to choose from here from Feathers and Wings to a Taste of Asia.
And if you have any younger chefs there’s a Junior Gourmet course that’s run on a regular basis.
Full details of their courses are available here.
If you like the hot stuff they have a curry club and the next meeting is on Friday 29th April.
But that’s not all… how about Mexican Street Food or The Bread Course or a Sushi Friday? Prices range from £55 to £145 for a day course.
Find out more here.
You can take a cookery holiday here or how about a team building event? Based in an Oast House in the countryside, learn new skills, entertain clients or build your team relationships.

Courses run from September until May each year from beginners to experts.
Days from £80 per person and evenings from £40 per person.
Lots of other activities available too including wine and food tasting competitions, paintballing, treasure hunts and Alpaca treks.
Check out the courses here.
Most cookery schools will also offer gift vouchers which make an ideal present for a foodie friend.
We’re out and about at Festivals from now onwards. The first one is in Brighton on Sunday 1st and Monday 2nd May. If you’re in the area and fancy trying out some great food why not pop in and come and say hello?
