Origin of Valentine’s Day

It’s Valentine’s Day on 14 February.

In the 14th century Geoffrey Chaucer associated the day with romantic love. A tradition started in the 18th century when lovers expressed their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as “valentines“).
